YUBA COUNTY, Calif. — People in part of Yuba County have been ordered to evacuate as the Double Fire burns in Brownsville.
According to the CAL FIRE Nevada Yuba Placer Unit (NEU), it’s about 10 acres in size and the fire is holding within retardant lines. They say the terrain is difficult and air resources are making retardant drops over the fire.
Evacuations
Zone YUB-E081 has been split into three zones: YUB-E081-A and YUB-E081-C are now Evacuation Warnings. A includes La Porte Road at Allen Way and north. C includes the Brownsville Airport and south. YUB-E081-B remains an Evacuation Order. YUB-E007 also remains an Evacuation Order.
A temporary evacuation point is located at Sycamore Ranch at 5390 Highway 20. The Sheriff's Posse Arena will be on-site for large animals.

WILDFIRE PREPS
If you live in a wildfire-prone zone, Cal Fire suggests creating a defensible space around your home. Defensible space is an area around a building in which vegetation and other debris are completely cleared. At least 100 feet is recommended.
The Department of Homeland Security suggests assembling an emergency kit that has important documents, N95 respirator masks, and supplies to grab with you if you’re forced to leave at a moment’s notice. The agency also suggests signing up for local warning system notifications and knowing your community’s evacuation plans best to prepare yourself and your family in cases of wildfires.
