Man dead after Tuolumne County house fire

Deputies said identifying the deceased man will require further investigation by the Tuolumne County Coroner’s Office.

TUOLUMNE COUNTY, Calif. — A man is dead after a house fire Saturday in Tuolumne County.

Just after 8 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a structure fire along Bodenhammer Avenue near Oak Street, according to Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Deputy Ashley Boujikian.

Boujikian said the Tuolumne County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene for a deceased man but identifying him will require further investigation. Two men were reported to be in the house, she said. The status of the second man is unclear.
