SANTA ROSA, Calif. — UPDATE: Oct. 31, 8 a.m.
Thanks to slowing winds and better weather conditions, firefighters were able to further stop the growth of the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County.
The wine country fire is still at 76,825 acres scorched, but now at 60% contained — up from 45% containment the day before. According to Cal Fire, 282 structures were destroyed, including 141 homes. Another 33 homes and 17 other structures were damaged in the fire.

Fire officials are reporting progress in their battle against a massive wildfire in wine country north of San Francisco.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says the fire that has burned 76,825 acres in Sonoma County is 45% contained early Wednesday. That's up from 15 percent containment Tuesday evening.
The latest damage assessments show that 266 structures were destroyed, including 133 homes. Another 47 structures have been damaged, including 32 homes.
Most of the 90,000 structures still threatened by the fire are homes.
Cal Fire also said that the fire caused the injuries of two first responders. There have been no fatalities reported. Cal Fire said they expect to have the fire fully contained by Nov. 7.
For those evacuating with large animals, they're being asked to head to the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds. Other evacuation centers are located at:

- Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Bldg., 1351 Maple Ave., Santa Rosa
- Sonoma Marin Fairgrounds, 175 Fairgrounds Rd., Petaluma, CA 94952.
- Petaluma Veterans Center, 1094 Petaluma Blvd., Petaluma, CA 94952.
Roads are currently closed at:
- Pine Flat Road at Red Winery Road.
- Geysers Road at Red Winery Road.
- Geysers Road at River Road.
- SR 128 at Moody Lane.
- SR 128 at Geysers Road.
- SR 128 atGeyserville Avenue.
- SR 128 at Alexander Valley Road.
- SR 128 at Pine Flat Road.
- SR 128 at Railroad Avenue.
- Lytton Station Road at Lytton Springs Road.
- Healdsburg Avenue at Alexander Valley Road.
- All roads east of Hwy 101 in the Geyserville area.
