Park Fire evacuees encouraged to reclaim pets

The shelters run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Camelot Equestrian Park in Oroville and Del Oro in Oroville.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. — With some fire evacuees returning home, Butte County officials are calling on people to reclaim their lost pets.

Butte County Animal Control and North Valley Animal Disaster Group sheltered more than 186 large and small animals and served 396 locations for animals sheltered-in-place due to the Park Fire. However, while many animals have been claimed, 104 are still waiting to be claimed.

Shelters will still be serving pet owners who are in an evacuation order or who don't have the ability to reclaim their pets currently.

Anyone picking up their animal will need an ID, a copy of the animal intake form and transportation for the animal.

Anyone with questions about the shelters or a missing animal can call North Valley Animal Disaster Group's Hotline at 530-895-0000

The shelters run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Camelot Equestrian Park in Oroville and Del Oro in Oroville.

www.24petconnect.com/event/parkfire is also available to help reunite lost pets with owners.
