Ranch Fire burning in Tehama County grows to 550 acres, is 10% contained

The Ranch Fire began somewhere near Coyler Springs Road and Raglin Ridge Road, just southwest of Red Bluff, according to Cal Fire.

RED BLUFF, Calif — UPDATE: Nov. 4, 8:45 a.m.

The Ranch Fire burning in Tehama County had little growth overnight as firefighters gained ground on containing the blaze Sunday.

The fire, which sparked Sunday afternoon southwest of Red Bluff, has burned 550 acres as of Monday morning, Cal Fire said. It is 10% contained.

Firefighters in Tehama County are working to get a handle on a new wildfire that flared up just to the southwest of the town of Red Bluff around 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The so-called “Ranch Fire” began somewhere near Coyler Springs Road and Raglin Ridge Road, according to Cal Fire. Just before 7 p.m., the fire had grown to approximately 476 acres.

Images of the fire can be seen on a PG&E Alert Wildfire camera in the Shasta-Modoc area.

The location of the fire is in a very rural area. There have been no reports of any structures in the area being under threat.
