Sisson Fire in Placer County: Evacuations lifted in wildfire

The Placer County Sheriff's Office said the fire was burning in North Auburn, off Sisson Road.

NORTH AUBURN, Calif. — Firefighters have stopped forward progress on the so-called Sisson Fire that sparked in Placer County.

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the fire was burning in North Auburn off Sisson Road.

Deputies temporarily evacuated homes in the area on Country Side Lane and Sierra Park Lane due to the blaze. Those evacuations have since been lifted.

Cal Fire said the blaze was contained at five acres.

WILDFIRE PREPS

If you live in a wildfire-prone zone, Cal Fire suggests creating a defensible space around your home. Defensible space is an area around a building in which vegetation and other debris are completely cleared. At least 100 feet is recommended.
