Rawson Fire in Tehama County burns 600+ acres

The Rawson Fire in Tehama County has grown to 675 acres.

CORNING, Calif. — 3:45 a.m. Sunday update:

KCRC TV reports that the mandatory evacuations have been lifted.

Authorities in Tehama County are telling people near Corning to leave the area due to the Rawson Fire.

The Rawson Fire has burned 675 acres near Corning and has prompted evacuation orders for nearby areas. According to Cal Fire, the fire is burning off Gyle Road and Long Dirt Road.

Mandatory evacuations have been put in place for the following areas:

  • Rawson Road to Gyle Road
  • Huckleberry Road
  • Canal View Road
  • Long Dirt Road
  • No Name Road

Evacuation warnings were given for Davis Road, Blatchley Road, and west of Rawson Road.

Fire crews have been able to notch 15% containment on the blaze.
