FAIRFIELD, Calif. — A woman died after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street Wednesday morning in Fairfield, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
Police said the crash happened on Waterman Boulevard, causing traffic delays for multiple hours. Both directions of Waterman Boulevard were closed between Capitola Way and Barbour Drive. The road reopened around 12:15 p.m.
According to police, the driver remained on scene and cooperated with officers during their investigation. Police haven't identified the victim yet.
