Woman killed in Placer County crash

Officials say the woman was driving nearly 130 miles per hour before the crash.

GRANITE BAY, Calif. — A woman was killed after crashing her car Sunday morning in Granite Bay, officials with the California Highway Patrol's Auburn office said.

The 28-year-old woman was driving a Honda Accord on eastbound Douglas Boulevard near Seeno Avenue around 1:18 a.m. Sunday.

According to the CHP, an off-duty Placer County Sheriff's Sergeant was driving on the other side of the road and estimated the woman's speed to be 130 miles per hour. 

Due to the fast speed, the woman lost control of her car causing it to roll over and hit an electrical box and cinder block wall, the CHP said.

Officials do not know whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the deadly crash.
