MODESTO, Calif — Police are investigating whether driving under the influence played a role in a major accident in Modesto Tuesday night.
According to Modesto Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of Briggsmore and Rose avenues around 9:30 p.m. for a two-car crash. Police said a Modesto woman in a Kia Optima hit a Stockton man in a Ford Fiesta in the intersection.
The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition with major injuries. The woman had non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the woman is under investigation for DUI, but no additional details surrounding the crash have been released.
