Woodland man pleads not guilty to charges after his toddler hits, kills 2-year-old with truck

The Yolo County District Attorney's Office says Julio Navarro-Vidrio is facing child endangerment and involuntary manslaughter charges.

WOODLAND, Calif. — A Woodland father of a toddler was arraigned on multiple charges Friday months after a 2-year-old was hit and killed by a truck.

The Yolo County District Attorney's Office says Julio Navarro-Vidrio is facing child endangerment and involuntary manslaughter charges after a child was left unattended in an idle truck at a gas station.

Police say the 3-year-old got into the drivers seat and caused the truck to roll forward, hitting 2-year-old Ailahni Sanchez Martinez who was with her family at a nearby taco stand. She later died after her family took her to the hospital.

Navarro-Vidrio pleaded not guilty Friday and will next appear in court June 11. He remains out of custody.
