WOODLAND, Calif. — A man died Tuesday after a shooting in Woodland.
The Woodland Police Department received reports around 1 a.m. of gunshots at a home in the 800 block of Ashley Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man in the backyard of the home with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene. His identity hasn't been released, but the police department said he was around 30 years old.
The police department said based on the preliminary investigation, two men left the area on foot. Police said they were believed to be armed and heading toward Ferns Park. Patrol, K9s and a drone team were searching the areas where the people left.
In an evening update, police said they've executed search warrants at two locations, one at the location of the homicide and another at a home along the 300 block of Riverside Drive.
Police said a person of interest was detained.
The shooting is being described as an isolated incident.
