TRACY, Calif. — A two-month-old baby girl died days after a collision with a wrong-way driver in Tracy, police said.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened March 31 around 2 a.m.
Police say a 2007 Honda Accord crashed head-on into a 2023 Kia Telluride along I-580, just west of Corral Hollow Road.
Both vehicles overturned with the driver of the Honda, 19-year-old Harold Liberty IV, being thrown into the center median. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Kia, 32-year-old Azucena Perez, was taken to hospital where she died from her injuries.
A 35-year-old man and a 2-month-old girl had major injuries and a 4-year-old boy had minor injuries. All three were from Fort Bragg and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The California Highway Patrol said Tuesday that the 2-year-old died from her injuries in the crash. It's unclear if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash.
