Yuba County driver hits, kills pedestrian, CHP says

The driver of the car that hit the pedestrian stayed at the scene, officials said.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A woman was killed after being hit by a car in Yuba County Friday night, California Highway Patrol officers said.

According to the CHP, the crash happened around 9:49 p.m. Friday while the pedestrian was walking southbound on Feather River Boulevard near Myrna Avenue.

Officers described the pedestrian as a woman. The driver of the 2006 Toyota Highlander that hit her stayed at the scene, officials said.

Investigators do not believe that alcohol or drugs were contributing factors in the crash but said that the area was dark with no streetlights.
