PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — The Placer County Sheriff's Office has found the body of a father who died in the American River trying to save his son.
Officials said the body was identified as 38-year-old Zabiullah Haliqyar.
The sheriff's office said he dove into the water Sunday to save his son. Citing family members, deputies said the man's son was ultimately pulled out of the water by another person, and Haliqyar never resurfaced.
His body was found downstream from No Hands Bridge Monday afternoon.
