Free-agent forward Jeff Green agreed on the structure of a one-year, $15 million deal with the Orlando Magic, a person with direct knowledge of the deal told USA TODAY Sports.

Green split last season with the Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 11.7 points and 4.2 rebounds.

The Magic, who have significant salary cap space for 2016-17, have re-tooled their roster in the past week, acquiring forward Serge Ibaka in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder on June 23.

They reached a deal with guard D.J. Augustin on Friday, and kept guard-forward Evan Fournier on the roster with agreement on a five-year, $85 million deal. Orlando also acquired guard Jodie Meeks in a trade with Detroit on Wednesday.

Green has shown flashes of being a quality NBA player but has lacked consistency. A one-year deal allows Green to become a free agent again next summer when the salary cap is expected to jump from $94 million in 2016-17 to $107 million 2017-18.
