PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — Kevin Kiley (R-Rocklin) has reportedly earned another two years as the representative for California's 3rd Congressional District, defeating Democratic challenger Jessica Morse.
Around 9 p.m. on Election Day, Kiley declared victory on social media. The Associated Press projected he would win the Congressional race around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday morning; ABC News has not yet projected a winner.
Kiley defeated Dr. Kermit Jones (D) back in 2022 to make the jump from state legislature to Congress.
Morse is a fifth-generation Californian, who was appointed deputy secretary for Forest and Wildland Resilience at the California Natural Resources Agency and was also appointed to the U.S. Wildland Fire Mitigation and Management Commission.
California's 3rd District is exceptionally expansive, including parts of Placer County, Nevada County and extending along the Nevada state border to Death Valley National Park.

When do we find out who won the election?
Voters will start to see results not long after 8 p.m., but keep in mind, these aren't the final results. Every number seen on election night are unofficial results.
While some elections might be called on election night, that's generally a projection from media outlets or experts. Governments don't call elections. Mail-in ballots, provisional ballots, ballots from registered voters in the military deployed over seas and more all get counted for the final result.
The last day for counties to certify results is Dec. 5. The Secretary of State will then have until Dec. 7 to certify the vote, with the Statement of Vote certified on Dec. 13.
