CALIFORNIA, USA — California's Proposition 13 is the only statewide measure on the ballot for the Primary Election. For early returns statewide, the ballot measure is coming up short.
Don't be confused by the number, this isn't the same Prop 13 that passed in the '70s, which capped property taxes for homeowners.
This new Prop 13 is about spending $15 billion to build and fix school buildings. It splits up the $15 billion pot into $6 billion for higher education and $9 billion for K-12 grade schools.
Total estimated cost: $26 billion.
