STOCKTON, Calif. — Ballot measures, council races and even the role of Stockton mayor is up for grabs in California's Primary Election.
In San Joaquin County, the primary will help shape the future of races for Stockton mayor, county supervisor and even city council races heading into the November election.
Polls close at 8 p.m. and results will follow soon after. The election office will start off with results from vote-by-mail ballots received through March 2. Then, updates will come every two hours until all in-person ballots from Election Day are counted.
Following election day, updates will come in on Monday, Wednesday and Friday by 7 p.m. This will continue until every vote is counted.

► Key Dates: According to the California Secretary of State’s office, vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked by March 5 and arrive at county elections offices by March 12. The last day for county election officials to certify the primary election results is April 4.
