CALIFORNIA, USA — Wondering where your ballot is? Well, whether you're in Sacramento County or San Diego County, California has you covered.
You can get automatic emails, texts or voice call notifications about your ballot through the state's "Where's My Ballot?" tool. It's available in every county.
Where's My Ballot? gives voters a way to track their vote-by-mail ballot and also monitor its status.
To use it, sign up at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov. You'll need to provide your name, date of birth and zip code. From there, you'll enter your contact information and choose what contact method and times work for you.
Keep in mind, the tool tracks your ballot envelope, not your vote. Your vote stays confidential through the whole process.

When will the election end?
Voters will start to see results not long after 8 p.m., but keep in mind, these aren't the final results. Every number seen on election night are unofficial results.
While some elections might be called on election night, that's generally a projection from media outlets or experts. Governments don't call elections. Mail-in ballots, provisional ballots, ballots from registered voters in the military deployed over seas and more all get counted for the final result.
The last day for counties to certify results is Dec. 5. The Secretary of State will then have until Dec. 7 to certify the vote, with the Statement of Vote certified on Dec. 13.
