Harris and Trump debate tonight. Here's what time it starts

Here's what time the debate starts in California.

CALIFORNIA, USA — The 2024 Presidential Debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump happens Tuesday night on ABC.

"World News Tonight" anchor David Muir and ABC News Live "Prime" anchor Linsey Davis will moderate the debate. It'll be held at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

What time is the debate in California? 

The debate is on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. PST. The 90-minute debate will end at 7:30 p.m. PST and have two commercial breaks.

Coverage on ABC10 begins at 5 p.m.

Debate Structure

Former president Donald Trump will give the last closing statement, and Vice President Harris selected the right podium position on screen, i.e., stage left. There will be no opening statements, and closing statements will be two minutes per candidate, per ABC's rules.

Candidates will be given two minutes to answer each question with a two-minute rebuttal, and an additional minute for a follow-up, clarification or response.
