SANTA ROSA, Calif. — A man was killed and four Sonoma County deputies were injured after a chase and shooting in Santa Rosa early Monday morning.
According to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a person with a rifle just after midnight.
Upon arrival, the suspect led deputies in a vehicle pursuit, investigators said. At one point, the suspect stopped, shot at deputies then continued driving, according to law enforcement.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff's office said. His identity has not yet been released.
The sheriff’s office said four deputies were injured; one with a gunshot wound to the leg, two with injuries to their hands and one with a head injury. The deputy with a head injury is in critical but stable condition, according to law enforcement.
