Stockton gang bust leads to arrest for May homicide

Multi-jurisdictional law enforcement task force from Stockton to Las Vegas were involved in the bust.

STOCKTON, Calif. — Several members of a Stockton street gang are behind bars following arrests for an ongoing murder investigation.

On Thursday, Stockton Police arrested 20-year-old Brian Norman for the May 1st shooting death of Ronald Celestine in the area of March Lane and Holiday Drive.

According to a Stockton Police Facebook post, Norman was arrested in Las Vegas by the Las Vegas FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

Also arrested in connection to the shooting death is 20-year-old Raemaonie Gaines for accessory to murder with gang enhancements.

Stockton Police said they launched their investigation with help from the California Department of Justice and the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office into the Everybody Killa (EBK) criminal street gang.

Police say the gang is responsible for a "high level of criminal activity" against the Stockton community including homicide, attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, illegal weapon trafficking, robberies, narcotic trafficking and pimping/human trafficking.

"Now, since we have members from this gang in custody, we are hopeful people will come forward with information so we can solve more cases involving this group," said Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones on the Stockton Police Department Facebook post. 

Also arrested was 25-year-old Charles Prince for a felon in possession of a firearm with gang enhancements.

Arrested for miscellaneous warrants included 22-year-old Daquan Easter, 18-year-old Rickey Gaines, 28-year-old Joshua Smith, 26-year-old Mikal Thomas, 40-year-old Rachael Williams and 23-year-old Asiane Yarbrough.

The Tracy Police Department, Manteca Police Department, the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office and the Delta Regional Auto Theft team also participated.

Stockton Police said this is still an active investigation.
