DAVIS, Calif. — The Sacramento State Hornets went head-to-head with the UC Davis Aggies Saturday in the high-stakes Causeway Classic. A win meant advancing into the FCS Playoffs while a loss meant the end of a season.
Though it was a soggy Saturday on the UC Davis campus, thousands of fans filled the UC Davis Health Stadium for the historic 70th meeting between the Hornets and Aggies.
UC Davis won for the first time since 2018 with an end score of 31-21.
Sacramento State started their season with a major win over Stanford who is coached by their former coach Troy Taylor.
The Aggies have been steady all season with their show stopper running back Lan Larison scoring nine straight touchdowns, including four during the Causeway Classic.
