Both teams are undefeated in Big Sky Conference games. Saturday's game will determine who wins the conference and gets an automatic playoff spot.

DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis Aggies and Montana State Bobcats are both undefeated in the Big Sky Conference and will go head-to-head at 5 p.m. Saturday in Davis.

Both teams are entering week 6 of Big Sky Conference play followed by one more conference game next week.

The Bobcats are 10-0 overall and 6-0 in the conference. This is the first time in program history that the Bobcats have been 10-0.

“You’re talking about arguably the best team in the country, they’re undefeated, they have the number one offense in the country by a wide margin,” said Tim Plough, head coach of UC Davis Football, in a press conference Monday. “They have a Top 10 defense in the country by a wide margin so not a lot of weaknesses.”

Montana State finished 3rd in the Big Sky Conference 2023 season while UC Davis finished 5th. However, both teams are now competing for that #1 spot.

However, the Bobcats have had a strong season so far. Last week, they defeated the Sacramento State Hornets 49-7 in a historic win. Montana State University set a school record for seven rushing touchdowns.
