How many Lime scooters end up at Albertsons Stadium on a BSU game day? Record high of rides

For the first Boise State home game of the season, Lime tracked 7,000 rides for the day.

BOISE, Idaho — The electric scooter company Lime is seeing an increase in riders on Boise State game days.

Some fans prefer to walk or take the game day shuttle down to Albertsons Stadium from downtown. But more people than you think are choosing option three, taking a Lime scooter or bike.

Lime arrived in Boise in 2018. They started with about 400 vehicles, and have grown their fleet to now 1,600 vehicles, according to Jeff Cody, the operations coordinator for Boise Lime.

On Sept. 21, Lime hit 7,000 rides. This was the most rides they've had in a day ever, Cody said.

It surpassed their former record of about 6,000 rides in October 2023 - the homecoming game of the season.

Fans who ride Lime scooters and bikes park them along the greenbelt by the stadium. Cody estimates about 1,000 of their vehicles get parked on the greenbelt on game day. They line up about a quarter mile.

Cody told KTVB that him and his team expect for this weekend's game against Washington State University will break the record, again.

"It's a bigger school coming to town, to be honest with you, I think it's going to be incredible," Cody said.

The Lime team works to strategically place their vehicles around the city to anticipate where vehicles might be needed and wanted.

"We will flood the downtown area," Cody said about Saturday. "We will put as many as we possibly can down there. We're going to stack up at Payette Brewing that's going to be a huge hub. We're also going to stack up the Main Street Station downtown for people to get to the stadium."

But don't worry - the vehicles make their way back scattered around the city.

"People ride them in and they ride them away," Cody said.

If vehicles end up misplaced, the Lime team will go out and gather them, to put them back where they need to be.

"These guys will be down Sunday morning, and that's exactly what they'll be doing, is taking them all back to the placement pins that we have all over the city," Cody said.
