FOLSOM, Calif — Folsom High School will host its first playoff game against Downey Knights at 7 p.m. Friday.
The Bulldogs are ranked No. 14 in California and No. 40 nationally. Folsom’s rankings change weekly because of its weaker schedule compared to other schools.
However, this matchup could be a close one. The Bulldogs are 9-1 overall and 7-0 in the Sierra Foothill League. The Knights are 10-1 overall and 4-1 in the Central California - CCAL League.
The Bulldogs are coming off a bye week and are looking for their first playoff win for the 2024 season. Downey, however, had a tough first playoff game last week against Edison High School going head-to-head until time ran out. The Knights pulled through and defeated the Vikings 44-41.
Folsom is not slowing down anytime soon as they will start their playoff run on their home turf.
