MODESTO, Calif. — The Central Catholic Raiders clash with the St. Mary's Rams in the 2024 Holy Bowl for the Northwest Exteriors Game of the Week.
Both teams are playing for the ultimate bragging rights and possession of the Monsignor William M. Burke Memorial Bowl Trophy.
"We've had it. For a few years, they've had it," said Central Catholic head coach Roger Canepa. "We'd like to get it back".
The Rams are looking to keep the trophy for their third consecutive year. Last year, they defeated the Raiders 42-33 in what would be one of their toughest tests of the season. That was on their home field, but this year, they have to do it on Central Catholic's terms.
"It makes it way bigger. The Blue Crew, and all the fans, they're going to be loud and excited. It's going to bring us some juice and some excitement," said Raiders junior defensive back Carter Meeks.
The Raiders want the trophy back. The Rams aren't prepared to open up space in their trophy case.
Kickoff from Central Catholic high school is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday night.
