'It was really fun all around' | Land Park Pacific All-Star 12U Baseball Team returns home

The Little League World Series starts next week from August 14 to the 25th.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — It was a warm welcome home party for some of baseball's youngest stars.

The Land Park Pacific All-Star 12U Baseball Team just returned from Southern California where they played other elite little leaguers in San Bernardino for a coveted spot in the Little League World Series.

A celebration for the team took place Friday night at Dooley Field in Sacramento.

"It was really fun all around, from districts to sections,” said Liam Musante a third baseman. “When we won districts everyone was super excited, but we all knew we could go farther, and we did."

With an outreach of 750 teams, Sacramento's Land Park Pacific was one of four teams to get the chance.

"These are some of the powerhouses in just the west region, like, we faced Hawaii,” said Dominic Grandinetti a 1st baseman and pitcher. “We did the best we could against their pitcher."

Only ten teams from the entire country get to go to Williamsport, Pennsylvania — the site of the Little League World Series.

"It's a little leaguers dream come true,” said Coach Pat Chapman. “A lot of steps to get here. There are 350 teams in Northern California alone. We got through that to step onto the fields in San Bernardino to face the top four teams in the West."

While the Land Park Pacific All-Star 12U Baseball Team won't be one of the teams in Pennsylvania, they are proud 2024 Northern California Little League State Champions. And the friendships they build throughout the season will last off the field.

“I love how we are all friends and we can all hang out outside of baseball," said Musante.

The Little League World Series starts next week from August 14 to the 25th.
