SACRAMENTO, Calif — The reigning G League Coach of the Year is among those expected to interviewed for the head coach position with the Charlotte Hornets, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Wojnarowski said Charlotte was granted permission to interview Lindsey Harding, the current head coach for the G League Stockton Kings, the Sacramento Kings G League affiliate.
Harding just wrapped up her first season as head coach with the Stockton Kings, leading them to the top seed and the Western Conference Finals.
Recently, she made history by becoming the first woman to win G League Coach of the Year. She was unanimously voted to get the award by general managers and her fellow coaches.
According to ESPN, other coaches to be interviewed include Denver Nuggets assistant David Adelman, Boston Celtics assistant Charles Lee, Phoenix Suns assistant Kevin Young and Sacramento Kings assistant Jordi Fernandez.
Harding was a former National Player of the Year at Duke, and #1 overall pick in the 2007 WNBA Draft.
Atlanta Hawks Head Coach Quinn Snyder and Philadelphia 76ers Head Coach Nick Nurse are two of several former G-League Coach of the Year winners to make it to the NBA.
