SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown and the team reportedly agreed to a contract extension Friday night, according to ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski.
The contract extension comes after talks were tabled earlier this week during negotiations.
This contract extension is the first for a Kings head coach since Rick Adelman, who was head coach from 1999 to 2006.
ESPN sources say Brown will get a $4 million raise for the rest of this season then will be bumped up to $8.5 million annually in the two new seasons on the contract. The total contract length will last through the 2026-27 season, according to ESPN.
Brown ended the Sacramento Kings playoff drought in 2022-23 after 16 seasons. The Kings made the play-in tournament this year, but didn't make it to playoffs.
No other information is known about the contract extension at this time.
