Books & Buckets: Sacramento Kings player Trey Lyles hosting book club

Trey Lyles will be at the Sacramento Public Library on Feb. 23 to launch his first book club—as the Sacramento Kings forward is an avid reader.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento Kings forward Trey Lyles is launching his inaugural book club this month at the Sacramento Public Library.

Readers who register by Feb. 7 will have the chance to join 20 lucky fans who will be randomly selected by Feb. 9 to attend the book club in-person. Everyone who registers can also watch through a livestream.

Lyles plans to read The Creative Act: A Way of Being by legendary music producer Rick Ruben on Feb. 23 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Off court, the basketball player is an avid reader who often immerses himself in books when on the road traveling between games.

"Trey Lyles selected [The Creative Act: A Way of Being] to learn more about yourself through unleashing creativity in all aspects of life, not just basketball," a library spokesperson said.
