SACRAMENTO, Calif. — With Super Bowl LVIII less than one week away, San Francisco 49ers gear is flying off the shelves of local sports apparel stores. The team from the Bay Area will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas on Sunday, February 11.
"If you're in the market for a jersey, I would do it now. Don't wait for the weekend, because it's just been constant Niners stuff all day here. People are coming in from morning to close," said Caleb Khan, an employee at Pro Image Sports.
It has been a busy week at Pro Image Sports in the Arden Fair Mall leading up to Sunday's big game. Fans grabbed jerseys, hats and jackets to represent the 49ers.
Niners fan, DJ Roberts from Cameron Park, came in for some new Super Bowl LVIII merch for himself and the whole family, including his son.
"He's starting to say, 'Hey dad, let's go to the Super Bowl, let's go to the game,' so that's kind of cool to watch him get excited about that. He's seven," Roberts said.
Fans with the Capitol City 49ers, a Sacramento-based fan group, are also preparing for game day.
"We are getting ready by planning a huge party in Sacramento. It's going to be one of the biggest parties in Sacramento at Mr. Tequila Sports Bar and Grill," said Erica Medina, who runs the Capitol City 49ers. "We will have a DJ, raffles, food and drink specials and we expect over 150 people there."
Medina is excited to go to the watch party and be surrounded by fellow fans. She even went to Santa Clara to sendoff the players as they left for Vegas.

"It's been an exciting ride for us. To see our players go through without injury for the most part and make it this far, it's been exciting," Medina said.
She is one of many loyal fans in the Sacramento area.
Medina already has a prediction for the big game.
"We are going to win by at least 20; it's got to be a big win," she said.
