CALIFORNIA, USA — For the second time in five years, the San Francisco 49ers are heading to the Super Bowl.
While some fans attended the game in person, others were glued to their television hoping the team clinches its ticket to the Super Bowl.
“Let's get this. Let's go to the Super Bowl. Let's win,” said one fan who was at the Mr. Tequila Sports Bar and Grill watch party.
The Capitol City 49ers fan club came together to cheer on the red and gold at Mr. Tequila Sports Bar and Grill in Rancho Cordova.
“I am so excited that it is going to be a prosperous day,” said Erica Medina, who is the founder of the Capitol City 49ers fan club.
The faithful’s dedication was tested as the 49ers fell behind early against the Detroit Lions, sending shockwaves across the bar.
With each turnover created by the 49ers defense turned into touchdowns. Fans’ faith was slowly restored.
“A lot of people were saying game over,” said Forrest Coleman, a 49ers fan. “People were leaving and whatnot. It is about that Niner faithful.”
“I said if we stopped the run we will come back and win this game,” said Johnnie Gonzalez, a 49ers fan.
A win that will be remembered, which takes the 49ers and their fans one step closer to the ultimate prize.
With the 49ers beating the Detroit Lions 34-31, they go on to face the Kansas City Chiefs who beat the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 on Sunday.
The Chiefs beat the 49ers during Super Bowl LIV, which was Kansas City's first appearance in the Super Bowl in 50 years.
