Travis Kelce not bothered by Taylor Swift questions ahead of Super Bowl

Kelce was asked what he thinks takes more stamina: playing in a Super Bowl or giving a three-hour concert?

LAS VEGAS — Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce spoke to the media ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, and he didn't shy away from questions about Taylor Swift.

Kelce was asked what he thinks takes more stamina: playing in a Super Bowl or giving a three-hour concert?

“Man, that's a great question. I would say, I would say just a Super Bowl because of the physical aspect," Kelce said.

On her Eras Tour, Swift takes fans on a journey through her musical periods with costume changes to match the 10 albums she features. Her concerts are about three and a half hours and include "All Too Well," a 10-minute song from her album "Red."

Swift said she trained for the Eras Tour six months before it kicked off in March 2023 in Arizona. According to Time Magazine, Swift ran on the treadmill every day while singing the Eras Tour setlist of 44 songs. She said she ran fast for fast songs and a jog for the slower songs. She also did a specialized strength, conditioning and weights program and three months of dance lessons — all while staying in key.

The Super Bowl isn't any ordinary NFL game. With an extended halftime show, players usually spend more time in the locker room than during a typical game. Halftime coupled with the extended commercial breaks leads to a longer game. A regular season game usually takes little over three hours, as long as the teams don't go into overtime, while a typical Super Bowl can last three and a half to four hours.

The amount of time the offense and defense are on the field depends on how successful each team is at getting first downs.

Kelce was also asked if he thought it was fair that he was being asked so many questions about his personal life.

“I think it's fair. Yeah, I think it's fair. I mean, everybody's having fun with it and it's not like you guys are up here teeing off on me left and right," Kelce said. "You know, everybody's having a good time with it, so how could I be upset about it?”

Kelce has talked about his relationship with the Grammy Award winner on his "New Heights" podcast he has with his brother, Philadelphia center Jason Kelce.

Swift will attend the Super Bowl in between her Tokyo and Australia stops on her international Eras Tour.
