LOOMIS, Calif. — There are 131 Californian athletes who qualified for and are heading to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games. America's Olympic team, Team U.S.A., includes 10 athletes from the Greater Sacramento region.
Here’s a look at water polo Olympian Alex Obert from Loomis.
Obert, 32, will compete in Water Polo during the 2024 Olympics. This will be Obert's third Olympic games after placing 6th in 2020 and 10th in 2016.
The Loomis raised Olympian graduated from University of the Pacific and originally started playing water polo in high school to stay in shape for basketball season, according to his Olympic bio.
