MODESTO, Calif. — There are 131 Californian athletes who qualified for and are heading to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games. America's Olympic team, Team U.S.A., includes 10 athletes from the Greater Sacramento region.
Here’s a look at Olympian swimmer Erika Connolly (née Brown) from Modesto.
Connolly, 25, will compete in Women's 4x100 freestyle relay during the 2024 Olympics. This is Connolly's second Olympic games after winning a silver and bronze metal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
"What a journey this has been! Very thankful to have made my second Olympic Team," she said in an Instagram post. "This past year and a half has been filled with disappointment and heartache, but God continued to provide such peace and joy through it all."
