WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Friday’s home opener for the Sacramento River Cats has been postponed to Sunday due to weather.
There will now be a doubleheader Sunday with the first game beginning at 1:05 p.m. and the second set to start 30 minutes after the first ends.
Both games are currently scheduled to last their full seven innings.

Saturday will see scattered showers with the highest chances being in the afternoon. Thunderstorms are also possible depending on how much clearing in the cloud coverage there is.
Uncertainty remains on what the weather on Easter Sunday holds. It will most likely be a dry day for most of the region as the storm heads south, but models are hinting at the possibility of showers throughout the day in the valley.
Through Sunday, 0.25-0.75” of rain is forecast in the valley and 1-2" in the foothills.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Sierra from 8 a.m. Friday through 5 p.m. Sunday. Snow levels will range from 3,500-4,500 feet and totals will range from 8-20" with up to 30" expected at the highest elevations. Friday night through Saturday morning will be the period of heaviest snowfall, but snow will continue through Sunday.
The West Coast will transfer to a pattern dominated by high pressure beginning Monday but by April 5 low pressure will move back into the region.
Temperatures next week will push into the mid 70s with high pressure in place overhead before cooler conditions once again move in with the arrival of low pressure.
