WASHINGTON — In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, the National Air and Space Museum launched a projection of the 363-foot Saturn V rocket off the Washington Monument.
After projecting the rocket onto the monument all week, the museum launched - literally and figuratively - their 17 minute show from National Mall on Friday night. It's titled "Apollo 50: Go for the Moon."
By 9:15 p.m., hundreds of people had gathered on the National Mall to watch the first showing.

It's free and runs three times on July 19 and July 20.
