SUTTER COUNTY, California — 2:50 p.m. Update: Three people died in a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 99, and several others were injured, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP believes alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Northbound SR-99 is now open for traffic, CHP said.

Northbound State Route 99 at State Route 113 is closed due to a multi-vehicle crash investigation according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened near SR-113 and Tudor Rd in Sutter County.
Traffic is being diverted at eastbound SR-113 to Garden Highway. Caltrans is advising people to use alternate routes and avoid the area if possible.
Caltrans says there is no estimated time for the road to be open.
