SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — 6:40 p.m. update
More information about a head-on crash that killed two people on Highway 160 in Sacramento County on Tuesday morning was released by CHP officials.
CHP received reports a little after 4:45 a.m. of a car off the roadway and another was blocking the southbound lane. They were told both vehicles had major front-end damage. Rio Vista Fire Department declared both drivers dead at the scene.
CHP believes the crash happened in the southbound lane. Officers will be contacting those who called in the crash.
The identities of the victims were not released as of publication. CHP currently does not know if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

Two people were killed in a head-on crash on Highway 160 in far southern Sacramento County, early Tuesday morning.
The crash has shut down the southbound lanes of the highway.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area on southbound SR160 at the Antioch Bridge. There is no estimated time for reopening, according to Caltrans District 3.
The identities of the victims have no been released. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
