PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — Eastbound Interstate 80 reopened after being closed at Rainbow Road in Placer County on Wednesday.
California Highway Patrol said around 6:40 a.m. the estimated time for the road to reopen would be about two hours. The road reopened around 7:40 a.m.
The closure was due to an accident in a construction zone. Photos from the California Highway Patrol showed a cement mixer truck on its side
Traffic was being diverted onto Donner Pass Road and back onto I-80 at Kingvale Road.
