CALIFORNIA, USA — Highway 49 is closed near Plymouth due to downed power lines, Caltrans said Thursday.
The highway is closed by Sand Ridge Road, near the Amador County and El Dorado County line. There's no estimated time the road will reopen.
Southbound big rigs must turn around Pleasant Valley Road and all southbound traffic needs to turn around at Crystal Boulevard, according to Caltrans. Northbound big rigs must turn around in Plymouth and all northbound traffic must turn around at the county line.
Drivers should take alternate routes to avoid the area.
