SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Multiple ambulances have been called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash in South Sacramento on Friday.
First responders were called out to the scene of the crash in the 8200 block of Elder Creek Road around noon, Sacramento Fire officials said.
Authorities said the crash involved two vehicles -- a car and a semi. Three people were injured in the crash. Those injuries ranged from moderate to severe, fire officials said. The driver of the car was the only person who had to be extracted from the crash.
It is unclear if the driver of the semi was among the injured.
Authorities had to shut down Elder Creek Road between Florin Perkins Road and Power Inn Road. Drivers are being asked to take an alternate route around the area.
