Southport Parkway in West Sacramento re-opened after semi crash | Update

All southbound lanes of Southport Parkway were closed for hours while crews worked to clear the scene of a semi crash.

Update 1:30 p.m.:

Southport Parkway has re-opened following a crash involving an overturned semi, Friday morning.

Original:

An overturned semi has shut down all southbound lanes of Southport Parkway in West Sacramento, Friday morning.

The crash happened on a section of SB Southport Parkway just to the south of Lake Washington. All southbound lanes are expected to remain closed for approximately two hours while crews work to clear the roadway, according to West Sacramento Police.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area for the time being.

No word yet if any other vehicles are involved or if anyone has been injured. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
