Road rehabilitation happening near Ione in Amador County

Construction will happen along State Routes 104 and 124.

AMADOR COUNTY, Calif. — Caltrans is fixing the road in Amador County near Ione along State Routes 104 and 124. Skip Allum with Caltrans District 10 says crews will make repairs to damaged pavement.

“These particular locations, they haven't seen a serious pavement rehabilitation job come through there since 2011,” said Allum.

According to Caltrans, these areas will be part of the project: 

  • State Route 104 – A one-mile segment from Oak Ridge Drive/Sutter Lane to Foothill Boulevard.
  • State Route 124 –A 2.3-mile segment from SR-88 to Shakeley Lane.
  • State Route 124 –A smaller, 0.2-mile segment from Shakeley Lane to Raymond Drive.
  • The road along SR-124 at the railroad crossing close to Brickyard Road will also be replaced.

One-way traffic control will happen in each area overnight from Sunday to Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Allum says the work should be finished by September 2024.
