YUBA CITY, Sutter — Two women died Friday after a crash along Highway 99 in Sutter County.
The driver crashed into a tree south of Live Oak Boulevard, according to California Highway Patrol.
California Highway Patrol officers said a 20-year-old woman driving the car took a sharp turn and drove into a dirt embankment before hitting a tree. The driver and a 19-year-old passenger died in the crash. The identities of the women weren't released, but CHP said they were both from Gridley.
Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash but it hasn't been confirmed, investigators say.
