SACRAMENTO, Calif. — It's Travel Tuesday and a few airlines, travel companies and booking sites may have deals for you!
Christie Hudson with the Expedia Group says there are good deals on Expedia and Hotels.com Tuesday through Wednesday. She says the travel industry has leaned into Travel Tuesday because they know people want to invest in experiences more than ‘stuff.' She says to log in to their sites because members get good deals.
"Travel Tuesday is the travel industry’s version of Black Friday. It started about five or six years ago but it's really skyrocketed in terms of interest recently. In fact, [there was a] 500% increase in Google searches for the words Travel Tuesday since 2021, and it's become a day that you can score discounts and special offers on flights, hotels and car rentals. All sorts of travel-related things," said Hudson.
Hudson says if you see a good deal but there’s a chance the trip might not work out, you can always book a refundable rate.
In general, if you are booking travel, make sure you have an account with the airline you’re flying, even if it's not your usual so you can get those points. Additionally, if you have one – use a credit card when booking so you can get points you can use for future travel.
