SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Heading into Labor Day weekend, highs are in the middle and upper 90s across the valley. We've spent most of the week above average and that weather pattern continues into Saturday.
Saturday sees the valley start off near 60° with clear skies and a light onshore breeze. Temperatures warm up into the 80s by lunchtime and Saturday afternoon tops out in the middle and upper 90s once again. It'll be a nice day, but another warm day about 5 degrees above average.
A pattern change arrives for the rest of the long weekend.

A low pressure from the west arrives on Sunday. This will bring cooler air and a stronger Delta Breeze.
Sunday starts off in the upper 50s, with 70s by lunchtime and afternoon temperatures only in the upper 80s and low 90s. This means we'll be enjoying a noticeably cooler second half of the weekend.
Monday, for Labor Day proper, will be another nice day. For the second day in a row, afternoon temperatures will be centered around 90°, with some of the valley seeing low 80s.
The cooldown doesn't last long. High pressure begins building back in on Tuesday and by midweek, afternoon temperatures look to be back near 105°. Enjoy the cooler weather while it's here!
