Sweltering temperatures expected for first two days of the California State Fair

The California State Fair is no stranger to July heat, but there should be some better weather days next week.

CALIFORNIA, USA — The California State Fair kicks off Friday and will confront a well-known challenge, the weather.

Friday's forecast temperatures will be very hot with temperatures near 110 degrees during the hottest part of the afternoon between 4-6 p.m. Sacramento could see the temperature approach triple-digits near noon which is just a few hours after the opening and 100-degree heat will last until 8 p.m. Then temperatures move into the 90s before the fair closes for the day.

The state fair has routinely faced hot weather patterns and has supplied shady areas, misters and indoor airconditioned exhibits for some relief from the heat.

The second day of the fair on Saturday will also see another day and an extension of the Excessive Heat Warning for potential for dangerous heat. The good news is that by Saturday evening the temperatures will drop and it will be the last of the very high heat.

Sunday will have cooler morning temperatures and afternoon with highs dipping below 100 and landing in the mid-90s.

Next week the fair will have relatively quiet weather but will remain hot with highs each day in the mid to upper 90s and lots of sunshine.
